Occurring annually, the Vendor Showcase will seek out and highlight some of the many amazing vendors from throughout our community. Each year, the museum will solicit and review applications before selecting 10 Vendors that will receive access to training on best practices in further elevating one’s brand and business before being invited to join the IAAM Family through their goods being sold within the IAAM Gift Shop. Youth will learn how to turn solutions to social issues into business ideas and get a 101 on how to establish a business. All attendees will be invited to a networking breakfast at a later date where they will meet entrepreneurs featured at The Black Expo.

Meeting Room 11 Health + Legal Equality: Bridging gaps to create change- a panel with Motley Rice Law Firm and friends ( 11:00 Am)

A dynamic panel discussion focusing on uniting as a community to enhance legal and medical accessibility while raising awareness on health disparities affecting women and people of color. We'll explore how, together, we can jumpstart equitable change. The panel will dive deeper into the importance of advocating for self, loved ones and the community; how legal action drives change; and highlight specific healthcare and consumer safety issues disproportionately affecting the black community, including chemical hair straighteners, diabetes drugs and devices and other ongoing issues.

The mission of the Black Expo is to promote economic development through increased exposure for minority-owned businesses. African-American owned businesses have the opportunity to showcase their products and services to the public and procurement officers from major corporations and government entities. It is also an opportunity for major corporations and government entities to develop viable working relationships with minority-owned businesses while marketing their products and services to a growing consumer market.
